Writing a story

Imagine ONE member of the public to write for

Para 1

An intro should contain the key points - often this is NOT who, when, where - it has the Angle

It should use the fewest words possible - aim for 17 - 22

It should contain tension, be dynamic, forward looking, dramatic.

Often you COMBINE points, Sometimes use conditionals "IF this happens then that may happen"

Para 2:

Often who, when, where is included as well as pulling the story forward

Para 3 -

Amplify - explain the points of the intro

Para 4, 5

Amplify - more explanation and - Attribution

Para 6 etc

Quotes if none used so far

Para 7

More context and essential information

Para 8

What may happen next, or decisions, or when they will be made

Read the intro - can it stand alone - if not, why not
